Holidays in the south, is it worth the risk?

Does everyone need to relax in the south?

What can a month spent by the sea turn into?

Should children be taken south?

The habit of a certain ambient temperature, the amount of sunlight, even the time of sunrise and sunset is formed from generation to generation, creating a kind of geographical stereotype of every living organism. Abrupt changes in habitual living conditions require the stress of all regulatory systems from him. Therefore, in the heat, the capillaries of the skin expand. blood flow increases, sweating increases, the mineral composition of blood changes, the work of the endocrine glands, respiration, and blood circulation is rebuilt. A healthy body can cope with such a load. But can the weakened cope? So now we’ll think about whether everyone will be able to relax in the south with benefit for the summer.

What a south without a beach, you say. And you have to sunbathe on the beach. So they often sunbathe to a burn, to blisters on the skin, and in the evening they chill, the temperature rises, the whole body burns. And even if you do not sunbathe on the beach, but sit in the shade, it’s still hot, hard from a habit, constantly thirsty …

Let me exaggerate all the sensations and experiences that the northerner in the south exaggerates, but in principle this is so. And many then for the month spent by the sea. paid for long months of malaise.

… In October last year, a girl of 20 years old came to me with complaints about the cessation of menstruation and the appearance of hair on the face and body. The patient said that in the summer with a group of fellow students “savage” rested in Pitsunda and spent almost all day on the beach. As usual, in the first days it was “burnt”, the skin on the back and shoulders peeled off, it became chilling in the evening, and the head ached. I didn’t want to, I lost three kilograms.

It turned out that from the very beginning, her periods were not very regular, for example, during the period of exams, they were delayed for 2 to 3 weeks. The hair on the legs brought many experiences, and now they have appeared on the face, stomach, chest. This is evidence of impaired ovarian function. And the reason for it was unusual body overload caused by excessive insolation, sunburn, a sharp change in the usual climatic conditions of existence.

Of course, not always rest by the sea leads to such consequences. However, in women prone to excessive hair growth, under the influence of sunlight, the sensitivity of hair follicles to male hormones, which are always in the female body, increases. And as a result, coarsening of the hair of the hair on the body occurs. Therefore, we warn girls and women who have excessive hair growth that tanning is contraindicated for them.

In the same way, for teenage girls with an unsteady menstrual cycle, any additional loads on the body’s regulatory systems, especially sharp changes in temperature and climatic conditions, are extremely undesirable. They can lead to bleeding, and vice versa – the cessation of menstruation, acceleration or deceleration of sexual development, that is, disrupt the complex restructuring of the body during puberty. This restructuring is often violated in boys, which can lead to delayed sexual development. Clinical practice provides compelling examples.

I advise women to think three times, and men older than middle age, before going to rest in warm places. At this age, various vascular disorders are not uncommon, complaints of “hot flashes”, increased sweating, a tendency to increase blood pressure, there is a tendency to sleep, headache. And how often after a holiday in the south such people have to be actively treated to bring the cardiovascular system into a relative order. And right, don’t be upset if, when undergoing a medical examination, the doctor will recommend you rest in the middle lane in the usual conditions. Of course, with special care and in Karelia in the summer you can get sunburns, but this is an exception, and not an ordinary phenomenon.

And in conclusion, a few words about children. Recall the familiar picture: a child on the beach. He sits in the water until he turns blue, until he trembles, then he warms up under the scorching rays of the southern sun until a burn. Many parents come to the beach with their children only in the morning and evening hours. And the rest of the time? All the hot day the child should hide somewhere from the sun, sweaty, languishing from the heat and dreaming of splashing in the sea. And is it any wonder that after such a rest the children become excitable, capricious, nervous, fall asleep badly, eat poorly, that is, they show signs of neurosis. And it develops due to the increased stresses experienced by the children’s body, adapting to new climatic conditions and unusual conditions.

That is why, before deciding to go on vacation to the south and especially to take children there, you should definitely consult a doctor to find out if there are any contraindications and whether the desired south will harm your health.
