Diabetes

The number of patients with diabetes in all economically developed countries is growing steadily. Currently, there are about 50-60 million of them in the world. Given that approximately the same number of people have diabetes in a latent form, the total number of patients is at least 100 million people. More often people over 40 – 50 years old get diabetes.

The main reasons for the increase in the incidence of diabetes mellitus are many experts consider overeating, an increase in the amount of sugar and other easily digestible carbohydrates in the diet. decrease in physical activity. The hereditary predisposition also matters. The greatest risk of getting diabetes is in those whose mother and father have diabetes (the risk of the disease is 60%). If one of the parents is sick, then the risk of getting sick is 22%, one of the ancestors – 14%, a cousin or brother – 9%. Fortunately, a hereditary predisposition to diabetes is not fatal. It manifests itself only under the influence of provoking factors. These include infectious and viral diseases, mental and physical stress, overeating, obesity.

Diabetes leads to the development of diseases in which the part of the pancreas where insulin is produced is damaged (acute and chronic pancreatitis, injuries, tumors and pancreatic cysts, hemochromatosis, tuberculosis).

In people predisposed to diabetes, certain medications may decrease glucose uptake by the body; including, for example, glucocorticoids, contraceptives (tablets and powders), a number of diuretics. Prolonged, and most importantly, uncontrolled intake of such drugs can disrupt the carbohydrate metabolism and provoke the development of diabetes.

I must say that people who eat a lot of sweets, long before the onset of diabetes, have a harbinger of it – a hypoglycemic condition associated with a decrease in blood sugar. At the same time, a person most often complains of fatigue, weakness, dizziness, hunger, irritability, and cold sweat appears. Worries, insomnia, blurred vision. All these symptoms quickly disappear if you eat a little sugar, a cake or a bun. However, soon, health is deteriorating again. And the more carbohydrates, especially refined, enter the body, the more often the hypoglycemic state develops. This is easy to explain. Sugar makes the pancreas insular apparatus work harder, a lot of insulin is produced, under the influence of which the amount of sugar in the blood decreases sharply.

To prevent this, it is necessary to eat rationally. DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF SWEETS, MAKE SURE THE BODY MASS DOESN’T EXCEED THE NORM. THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT TO SUFFERING HYPERTENSIVE DISEASES, ATHEROSCLEROSIS, OBESITY, ELDERLY PEOPLE AND DIABETES OF AN OLD AGE, AND ALSO IN THOSE AMOUNT OF COMMERCIAL.

With myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular accident, pneumonia, acute pancreatitis, physical and mental trauma in some patients, blood sugar levels temporarily increase, it can even appear in the urine. If the body has sufficient compensatory capabilities, these disorders are normalized and diabetes does not develop.

Medicine does not yet have the means to save people from a genetic predisposition to diabetes, but they are able to prevent the development of the disease using a diet, stop the progression of the process, and normalize blood sugar levels.

IN FAMILIES UNFAVORABLE FOR SUGAR DIABETES, THE FOOD AND LIFE MODE SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY STRICTLY. It is no secret that poor nutrition is the cause of obesity. Do not forget that children usually easily adopt family traditions. Therefore, TO DO NOT CAUSE SUGAR DIABETES, SHOULD INCLUDE A CHILD VEGETABLES AND FRUITS IN THE DIET. MAKE SURE IT DOESN’T OVERKILL, RUNNING, PLAYING FROM OUTDOOR.

PEOPLE OVER 40 YEARS WITH A HEREDITARY POSITION FOR DIABETES MUST CONTAIN EASY CARBOHYDRATES (sweets, sugar, chocolate, honey, preserves), animal fats, increase vegetable consumption (50% of the total). IT’S COMPLETELY ENOUGH TO EAT 30 GRAMS OF SUGAR — TWO PIECES PER DAY. SUGAR CAN BE REPLACED WITH SORBIT, XYLITIS, FRUITOSE (30 – 40 grams 1 – 2 times a week). They are slowly absorbed in the intestine, do not require insulin for assimilation in the body, and thereby spare the insulin apparatus of the pancreas. In addition, xylitol and sorbitol have a laxative effect. and xylitol is also choleretic, which is useful for patients with increased body weight.

SHOULD GIVE PREFERENCE TO DAIRY AND VEGETABLE PRODUCTS. VEGETABLES AND FRUITS RICH IN VITAMINS, MICRO AND MACROelements are USEFUL. Due to their high fiber content, they improve bowel function.

A FEW TIPS FAT. KEEP FOOD DIETS, REDUCE CARBOHYDRATES AND FATS, BUT MULTIPLE INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PROTEIN IN THE DIET.
